Jax and the Jumperoo

Jax has definitely become more interactive recently. He loves to be in his exersaucer and jumperoo. The swing is a thing of the past.  Here is a video of Jax enjoying his Rainforest Jumperoo:

No real progress on the house to show. The electrical updates are done for now and we are looking into replacement windows.

4 Month Pedi Appointment

Not too much to update on the house renovations.  We have an electrician coming over the next couple of weeks to update the electric service. I don't find it overly excited and you can be assured that I won't be taking any pictures of it.

In other news Jax had his 4 month pedi appointment.  He is actually closer to 4.5 months old but we had to reschedule his original 4 month pedi appointment due to one of the storms we had before Christmas.  His stats are as follows:

Height: 25.75 inches which is the 65th percentile

Weight: 16 pounds 12 ounces which is the 72nd percentile

Head Circumference is 44.5 centimeters (no percentile given)

He was just a peanut when he was born at 6 pounds 13 ounces and 21 inches long.  He is a growing boy! In that vein we discussed starting solid foods with the pedi. We feel that he has been giving us cues that he is ready; for example, he is interested in our food and is eating more periodically.  The pedi agreed and we are doing rice cereal on a spoon daily until 6 months.  At 6 months we will move him to real food (pureed, of course).  Dex is planning on doing homemade baby food using The Magic Bullet that I got him for Christmas and this website.  I am sure this will be an adventure you will be reading about on this blog in the future.

On Thursday night we did the first try of the rice cereal. It was fun -- Jax definitely knew what to do with the spoon!  I have a video that I am going to try and upload but for now here is one picture before we got started:

The Holidays and Progress on the Kitchen

Happy 2009!

We had a great holiday and hope everyone else did too.  Jax had a great Christmas even though he doesn't understand the concept of presents.  At a minimum he did enjoy the crinkling wrapping paper!

Here are a few pictures:

I was on vacation for two weeks so Dex was able to make some progress on the kitchen,  We got the appliances in and had the wood floor refinished.  I am hoping that we can make some more progress in the next week and when I say "we" I mean Dex.  Here are some before and in progress pictures.

Excuse the massive mess -- that is what you get when you are living in the middle of a renovation. 

We still have to get the cabinets done, as well as the ceiling/lighting.  Dex is going to build a built-in drawer for garbage since we have a certain kitten who can't keep his nose out of the trash. The stone tile wall needs to be finished and the pot filler needs to be installed. Then there are a few odds and ends that I want to do.  

Currently we have the boys bedroom, our bedroom and the kitchen in progress.
